20 May                     Palace interiors reopen and launch of Gold and Glory exhibition The exhibition was due to open last March, to celebrate 500 years since Henry VIII met Francis I of France at the Field of the Cloth of Gold. It will tell the story of the two kings coming together, and objects on display will include Henry VIII’s hat and Cardinal Wolsey’s golden cloak. The best time to come and see the exhibition will be on quieter days (i.e. Weds to Friday outside school holidays), as visitor numbers in to the exhibition spaces will be limited to ensure safe distancing so there may be queues at peak times.

29 May–6 June     George Irvin’s Fun Fair, which usually takes place at Easter but couldn’t this year for Covid reasons, will run on The Green from 29 May to 6 June. Set up will start on 26 May and take down complete on 7 June.  As usual, George will communicate directly with neighbours living close to The Green. 29 May-5 June      Horrible Histories will perform in the East Front gardens as a limited ticket event for Covid distancing reasons. Shows will take place at midday and at 3pm. Tickets are available via our website, but do not include general entry to the Palace or Gardens (tickets for that need to be booked separately). Tickets available from the HRP website

18-20 June             Artisan Fair in the Palace gardens. An opportunity to browse a range of hand crafted gifts made by artisan producers. There will also be street food and traditional fete games. The event is included in the Palace entry fee (or free to members, but tickets are limited so you need to book ahead). Tickets available from HRP’s website

6-11 July                  RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival. The RHS flower show returns with gardening inspiration and stunning floral displays. Tickets available from

13-24 August          Music Festival takes place in Base Court.  This year’s artists include Tom Jones, Nile Rogers, Van Morrison and Bjorn Again. Tickets available from

28-31 August          Food Festival. Discover hand picked artisan producers and pick up tasty treats to take home for your foodie friends. Event included in Palace entrance ticket, free for members but places must be booked in advance. More info at

3-5 September       Concours of Elegance, bringing together a selection of 60 of the rarest cars from around the world, many of which will never have been seen before in the UK

From 3 June          Royal Style in the Making, an exhibition exploring the intimate relationship between fashion designer and royal client. Beautiful items on display will include the wedding dress of Diana, Princess of wales, and designs for the 1937 coronation gown of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. The exhibition is included in the general Kensington Palace entrance fee (free for members but advance booking essential)


From 4 June          George III: The Mind Behind the Myth, an exhibition exploring the real man behind the much-pedalled myth. Entrance to Kew Palace is included within the entrance fee for The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew
