The Royal Parks launches spring photography competition

The Royal Parks charity, which cares for London’s eight historic Royal Parks, has today launched a spring photography competition, ‘Creating Spaces for Life’.  Park visitors are encouraged to photograph the new life that is emerging in the parks this springtime. This can come in many forms – the birth of ducklings, goslings or cygnets in the waterways, the pink cherry blossom, the colourful spring flowers or the fresh new green shoots appearing on trees.

The competition invites budding photographers to take shots that capture new life in all its forms from any Royal Park.  Whether these are broad landscapes or macro shots, the Royal Parks charity wants to see all ideas and angles. Competition opens on 4 April and closes on 10 May, with winners being announced on the week commencing 3 June 2024.

The launch of the photography competition marks the launch of a new awareness campaign called ‘Creating Spaces for Life’. The campaign is being piloted on social media channels and across the parks. It raises awareness that The Royal Parks is a charity and highlights the range of work that goes on behind the scenes to care for London’s historic green spaces.
