Parking
From Tuesday The Royal Parks (TRP) re-opened public car parks on weekdays only. As Chestnut Avenue will remain closed to through-traffic, visitors will need to access parking from the closest gate. Please note: all car parks will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Catering
All catering and kiosks are open.
Toilets
TRP continue to work through how to re-open all the toilet blocks safely. Currently, the toilet facilities located by The Playground and at The Pheasantry Café are open every day from 12:00 – 19:00.
Playgrounds
The playgrounds are due to open imminently. Please check the TRP website for further details.
Additionally, the Bushy Park Visitors Centre will continue to be closed until further notice.
Movement Strategy Update
The Royal Parks has formally adopted its Movement Strategy and five trial projects that we intend to deliver this year (2020-21). The Movement Strategy sets a coherent framework to help shape and inform the policies TRP develop and decisions they take relating to how park visitors can access, experience, and move within the parks
Each of these trial projects seeks to restrict cut-through motor vehicle traffic on our park roads and create new spaces for park visitors to enjoy. These projects will formally start once TRP have eased current COVID-19 restrictions and the car parks are fully re-opened, and will last for a period of six months. TRP will announce a start date for the trials and associated consultation period as soon as is possible. Please read our Implementation Plan to learn more about the trial projects.
The Bushy Park Trial: Restrict all through-traffic by trialing a partial road closure on Chestnut Avenue
When the park re-opens to motor vehicles, TRP will maintain a restriction that prevents the park being used as a cut-through. By closing the link between Teddington and Hampton Court Gates to traffic, TRP will create new park space for visitors within the centre of the park, removing all commuting motor vehicle traffic. Visitors will still be able to drive to the park and parking provision will be unaffected.
